Trip to Charleston in mid-January to celebrate Mamarite turning 95!
We enjoyed our visit, although not so much the drive down. Pat was telling his Dad that the drive was great for the first three hours, Pats Dad said, 'and then they woke up', which sums it up nicely. Lots of crying and whining and general discontent. Lots of noise in the car. Great traveling in the new Santa Fe though, very nice ride. We stayed with Gigi and Hunter and they had a surprise, a new puppy named Kiki. A teacup chihuahua, tiny little thing. It scared me to walk around with that dog loose so I would put her in my pocket and she loved it. She rode around like some kind of royalty, I was smitten with her pretty quickly.
We got to spend some quality time with Mamarite at the farm and in Charleston. Saturday we had dinner with Debby and Buz and also got to visit with Blake.
On Sunday, Fern cooked a great meal and while we were out at the farm, there was a fox hunt going on. Lots of nice horses we got to visit with, lovely day and no foxes were to be found so nothing was hunted, they just had a nice ride.
Only went to the peninsula one time, I took Wren and went shopping with Patsy and Martha. We had a very fun time. Pat and Savannah stayed at the house and rested. Pat and I got a night out and went for Mexican food and to Book World (used bookstore).
All in all, it was a very nice trip, we got to see family and show off the girls and had a good time.
